Reflecting on Emotional Wisdom: My Contributions to 'Embrace Your Emotions: A Self-Care Journal

I am thrilled to share that I've been quoted in an upcoming book called “Exploring Your Emotions: A Self-Care Journal.” It focuses on helping readers navigate their feelings, especially in those close relationships we hold near and dear.

Although the book will not be released until April 2024, I wanted to offer you a glimpse into some of the questions I explored and the insights I provided. If you’re interested in purchasing the workbook, you can do so here.

Not All Feelings Need to Be Shared:

I dished out some thoughts on how not every little feeling needs to be spilled to your partner. Sometimes, keeping things to yourself and working through them internally can be just as powerful for understanding yourself and your partner.

Understanding Emotional Triggers in Relationships:

Ever wondered why your partner can trigger such intense reactions in you? I explored this when I was interviewed, digging into the deep stuff like past experiences and insecurities that influence how we react to our loved ones.

Take a Breather Before You Talk:

Before you dive into a conversation with your partner about your feelings, I suggested taking a moment to reflect. Trust me, it can make all the difference in how clear and productive your communication ends up being.

Tips for Keeping the Peace:

I also shared some nuggets of wisdom on how to talk about your feelings with your partner in a way that actually helps, like using "I" statements and keeping things focused on emotions rather than blame.

I’ve written about “I” statements in further detail here.

Holiday Gatherings Got You Stressed?

Heading home for the holidays can stir up all sorts of emotions, from excitement to anxiety. I offered some down-to-earth advice on how to cope with the rollercoaster of emotions and navigate family gatherings like a champ.

I’ve also gone in further detail about how to handle conflict during the holidays (without burning bridges) here.

Celebrating Positive Emotions in Relationships:

Lastly, I emphasized the importance of celebrating the good stuff in our relationships. In a world where we often focus on what's wrong, it's crucial to take a moment to appreciate and express love for our partners.

I hope this workbook sparks some reflection and growth in your own relationships. Keep an eye out for when the book drops on April 23, 2024, and if you’re someone who struggles with any of the things I’ve discussed please don’t hesitate to reach out for help.
